After arriving at our first spot on the Mashel River we unload some salmon. The first task is to cut off the tails of the frozen fish. We do this so that biologists surveying streams don't mistakenly count these added fish in their surveys. We want to make sure we don't cause an overestimation of the salmon returning to these rivers.
